yucky rainy day today, so we stayed home and i found time to scrap a little. i had bought this paper group and some of the embellishments a few weeks ago. as soon as i saw it, it reminded me of my grandmother. i’ve been wanting to scrap a page about her, so i thought i would start with this. i also had bought this clear acrylic sleeve that you can place a 12 x 12 page in, and add ribbon or whatever to hang it.
the color theme matches my scrap room, so i hung it there. |

the picture is of my great-grandmother, my mom, and my grandmother….the year was probably 1951… my grandmother was a very creative lady. (i think that we were a lot alike…i’m guessing my creativity came from her). |
 |
one thing that she did was decorate blown-out eggshells. she always had many tiny embellishments to use. she passed on many years ago, but i used some of her items for this page.
the bow, the doily flower, and the pearl flowers were all from her stash. |
 |
i thought that the page needed balance, so i added some buttons. my great-grandmother always had a huge drawer full of buttons in her sewing machine table….so the buttons make me think of her. this is a great 3-generation picture and i’m quite happy with how the layout turned out.
guess the rainy day wasn’t so bad after all! |
