lovely weekend

well, i hope your weekend was a lovely one!  i had a lovely weekend!!!

first of all,

i scrapped these little lovelies for the “going green ATC swap” over on….(love that site)

my inspiration was a new t-shirt that i have.

they say “going green? love the earth. love the creator.”

also this weekend, our nephew was married!!!

it was a beautiful wedding.  beautiful dresses.  beautiful weather!

below is a picture of me & my hunky husband.

after the reception some of us snapped some family pix outside.

enjoy your monday!

…just swinging & reading…

wow.  i can’t believe that july is ending.  where has this summer gone?

it certainly has been an odd summer.

the weather has been ‘un-summerlike’…

haven’t spent much time in our pool…

my tan, what is that?  usually enjoying a nice dark tan by this point…

summer days with nick, soon-to-be freshman in HS, means different summer activities…

it’s just been an odd summer.

one thing that hasn’t changed–my swing.  i love it.  i love spending evenings sitting, swinging & reading.

of course, chewy is always close by.

this summer i have been totally nose-deep in The Coffehouse Mysteries…

oh my gosh.  they are sooooo good!  i usually read only Christian fiction, but i had recently stumbled across these on and thought i would give one a try.  INSTANTLY HOOKED!  this series is fabulous!!!!  of course, im sure that my love of all things coffee has something to do with it!  these books even include coffee recipes and tips.  {love them!}

OH MY GOSH.  just googled it and found an entire website about this series!!!!!

if you are looking for a good ‘read’, check them out!!!

happy blogiversary to me!

somehow, i totally forgot my blogiversary….back on july 19!

i can’t believe it’s been over 2 years already!!!

(thanks kevin, for my fabulous blogiversary picture!)

our refuge & strength {refocus & renew}

Psalm 46:1-11

  • (1) God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.  (2) Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,  (3) though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.  (4) There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells.  (5) God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.  (6) Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts.  (7) The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.  (8) Come and see the works of the Lord, the desolations he has brought on the earth.  (9) He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth; he breaks the bow and shatters the spear, he burns the shields with fire.  (10) “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”  (11) The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.

freak’n friday

i finished up my first ATCs yesterday….for a swap over on

they are a lot of fun to make.

i can’t wait to see what others have done with this theme!

a few days ago, my son turned 15!

it’s hard to believe.  where has time gone?

(today we went bowling with family….had a great time.)

a few nights ago, ON his bday, we enjoyed some s’mores around our fire-pit.

ohhhhhhh the days of summer…..

life is good.

itop {my new toy}

received my new toy yesterday….the new scrapbooking tool…i-top!!!

i made 2 of the brads last night, using the pre-punched, adhesive paper that was included in this kit.

the picture below is the first one that i made….woodgrain!

isn’t it cute?

this kit includes templates to trace before cutting out.  you can also purchase punches

i am going to play with it later today….i have a few coffee themed ideas that i want to try with it!

yea!  what’s your favorite scrap-tool?  leave a comment and tell us about it!

enjoy your tuesday!

waiting for zucchini bread

ohhh yum.

i love this time of year!

fresh zucchini from the garden, zucchini bread baking in the oven,

and chewy hardly able to wait another minute for it!

chewy LOVES zucchini bread.  he’s so funny.

he knows the cupboard where i keep my bread knife, he knows it all….one sound and he comes running for the kitchen.

this bread recipe is fab.u.lous!  my BF lisa gave me the recipe a few years ago….it never fails!!!  it’s delicous!  (& the recipe is peanut-free, so it is safe for those with an allergy to nuts)

i thought i blogged the recipe last year, but i couldn’t find the post….if you would like the recipe, leave a comment.

as you can see below, it’s time to snack on some bread!!

enjoy your day!
