where does time go?

I’m still around.

I started a part-time job a few months ago and am having a hard time finding time for the things I love…like scrapbooking, blogging, exercising, shopping….all of those things that I once took for granted that I would have time for…those things that I never understood when someone would say “I don’t have time for that.”

Now I understand.  Eeks.

(My son turned 16 this week.  Where has time gone?)

Happy Belated National Scrapbooking Day!

Incase you didn’t know, it was this past Saturday, lol.

I am typically, not a ‘cat person’, but my sister had to put her 20 year old cat, “Mini”, to sleep at the end of last week.  She, of course, is going through a sad time right now.

So, I did the only thing I know how.

I scrapped.

My mom gave me some pictures of the cat, from over the last 20 years, and I made a “mini album about Mini”.

Some of the supplies used were from:  Dear Lizzy, Studio Calico, Maya Road, PapertreyInk, Cricut & more!

Thanks for looking!

…i miss you, dear blog…

Dear blog,

Things are changing around here lately.  Each day’s hours are spent before I find time for you.  I am trying to organize my days better….trying to adjust….trying to find time for myself, my crafting, ….my blog.  Don’t give up on me.  I’ll be back.  I’ll figure it out.

: )

Me

just hatched

WOW!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted.  Sorry about that.

Anyways, with Easter on the way, I wanted to post a quick tutorial!

Altered Egg Box

  • You will need one of these totally adorable boxes, available from papertreyink.com  They are very durable and have crisp & clean corners.  Very easy to alter….and very inexpensive!
  • Next pick out your color/paper theme.  I have been LOOOOOOVING the “Lush” line.  I chose the brown and vintage turquoise.
  • Gather your supplies:  Your choice of adhesives,  (my most favorite adhesive for these types of projects are by Xyron 510….and a little bit of double-sided tape, if need be), paper cutter, punches or knife (for cutting egg-holes), ribbon, embellishments, stamps.  You will also need some plastic eggs and your choice of filling.
  • I chose to fill my eggs with yummy Easter chocolates, although you could use anything you like.  (I would love to find WHITE plastic eggs, but have yet to find them anywhere).
  • Once the eggs are finished, the fun embellishing can begin!
  • I love to use wire ribbon…it’s so easy to make pretty bows and twirl the ends!!

That’s it!!  Such a quick, easy project, that looks fantastic!!!

What are you making for Easter?

lush lovelies & an altered VB envelope

I had bought some Vera Bradley products as gifts recently, and had received the receipts in an extra thick envelope.  Of course, being the scrapper that I am, I kept the envelope, thinking it would be perfect for a future project.

So, for my mom’s birthday, I altered the envelope and made a card to go inside.

I made the card below using the new Lush line from My Mind’s Eye…..I love the vintage feel of the paper and embellishments!  The turquoise (blue) and the browns are my favorite!!!

The beautiful brown flower was handmade by my MIL!!

crazy-busy

Sorry I haven’t been around much.

It’s been a crazy-busy week.

Not to mention, we forgot to “spring ahead” last night.

But, I’m back.  The craziness is over.

Enjoy your Sunday!

pancake saturdays

The last 3 weeks, there’s been a new tradition on our home.

Pancake Saturdays.

My husband makes the pancakes.  (They are fabulous…thanks honey!!)

I make the coffee.

Even Chewy gets his own cute little mini pancakes.

One certain family member, has yet to crawl out of bed for his….ahhh, the life of a teenager.

{The Office}february friday fun facts finale

Today is the last in the series, February Friday Fun Facts.

Our topic this week is “The Office”.

  • John Krasinski and B.J. Novak went to high school together. They went to Newton South High School in Newton, MA and they both graduated in 1997.
  • Four of the main cast members are originally from Massachusetts: Steve Carell (Michael Scott), John Krasinski (Jim Halpert), B.J. Novak (Ryan Howard) & Mindy Kaling (Kelly Kapoor). Guest star Nancy Walls (Carol Stills), Steve Carell’s real-life wife, is also from Massachusetts.
  • Four of the regularly appearing secondary characters have the same first name as the actress or actor that plays her or him: Angela (Angela Kinsey), Oscar (Oscar Nuñez (I)), Phyllis (Phyllis Smith) and Creed (Creed Bratton).
  • Dwight has a “Froggy 101” bumper sticker on the filing cabinet next to his desk. Froggy 101 is the #1 rated country-western station in Scranton, Pennsylvania, the setting for the show. This bumper sticker can also be seen in the office of Michael’s boss at his short-lived night job at the telemarketing company.
  • Some of the video used in the opening theme song specifically the exterior shot of the building was taken by John Krasinski and his friends in their Jeep. John had just gotten the part and was coming out for shooting.
  • It is frequently mentioned that the characters Phyllis Lapin Vance and Michael Scott are the same age, having gone to high school together. In real life Phyllis Smith is 11 years older than Steve Carell.

(These facts found online, but not official.  Go here to visit The Office website!!)

Below is a video of my absolute favorite few minutes of The Office…Jim & Pam’s wedding!!  Enjoy!!
