scrapsinbloom layout

sib-layout
i’ve been scrapping a little here & there.

…between my son’s summer gym schedule, running errands, usual housework and enjoying our pool….

i have been wanting to scrap my blog for a while.  i was inspired by one of my scrapbooking magazines that showed a few blog-themed layouts.  i love how this turned out!  loooove using THICKERS, printed out my flair, hand-cut some clouds from scrap paper…used lots of 3D foam to make some of the embellishments ‘pop’…love the wood-grain brown paper for the background, (although it’s a little hard to see in the pictures).

my son does not like to have his pictures posted…so i block his face…lol

(it’s a good thing my mom didn’t have a “blog” when i was young.)

pool-09
our pool has been nothing but trouble this summer.  my wonderful husband has worked like crazy to get the parts that we needed and get it up and running.  he knows how much i love my pool.  thanks, honey  ; )

thanks for looking!

it’s tuesday.

that’s the only title that i could come up with.

lol

i had fun making this giftbag today.

i used some Daisy Bucket paper….the “In The Meadow” line… i had bought a few sheets a week or two ago.  it caught my eye because it has some of my current favorite colors–teal, green & brown.  i love that color combo!

i am really into making these layered button flowers right now.  anything goes!  there are many ways to do it….this one i just cut out different sizes of circles and layered them together, and stitched 2 coordinating buttons to the top of it!  ta-da!

of course the gift tag included a THICKER!!!

thanks for stopping by!

graduation time

grads
made 2 graduation cards last night.

they were for twins….i used their school colors….and since they are guys, i didn’t use ribbon or anything too frilly.

i’ve always loved these cap & gown stickers…..they’re just too cute!!!

the pictures aren’t too good…it was late and i had my cellphone handy and didn’t feel like getting my good camera.

i helped serve at their graduation open house today.  it was great to see a few friends that were in town for graduations.

after that i hit starbucks for a little ‘me time’.  lol

next on the list of places to go today,

i attended a wedding shower for my nephew’s soon-to-be wife.

can’t believe he’s going to be getting married in a few months.

one of my first “dates” with my hubby, (at the time boyfriend), was babysitting for him…he was a only a few months old and he spit peas all over us when we attempted to feed him…..now he’s almost 23 & getting hitched!

i’m getting old.  yikes.

hope you enjoyed your saturday…happy weekend!!

sentimental shadowbox

sbox-left
this was a fun project that i made last night.

a friend called me and needed some help getting some last minute preparations done for her cousin’s wedding this weekend…so she asked if i could do their engagement shadowbox.

the large shell on the far right corner actually held the ring when he proposed….and the tiny colored shells around the bow were off of her shower decorations.  the picture to the right points out the actual spot on the beach where he proposed to her.

this project was a lot of fun!

there may be more shadowbox projects in my future! lol

scrapped this layout last night, in about 5 minutes.  (could have been the fact that i had 2 venti-sized starbucks in me…lol)

i’ve been “saving” this vintage-looking postcard for a while and was thrilled to use it!

also used:

  • cosmo cricket paper
  • jenni bowlin paper
  • owl flair from etsy
  • pom-pom ribbon
  • THICKERS–love’em!

i journalled about the fact that i love being at home.

i never understood how my hubby was always content to be at home,

but now i do…..we are homebodies!

you decide

you_decide_page_0
just having some fun on scrapblog.com

scrapped the lyrics to another Plumb song: You Decide

Fiction and reality collide

Faceless and so busted up inside

You’ve been searching you’ve been crying out

Will you be destroyed by all your doubt?

You decide  (Who will you run to)

Wrong or right (There is no reason)

For you to hide

Only love can change your life

You decide

God is calling out to you again

Let Him pull you, let Him take you in

From the fear that swallows up for your life

Will you stay the same or will you fight?

You decide  (Who will you run to)

Wrong or right  (There is no reason)

For you to hide

Only love can change your life

Only love can change your life

Every day you hold on to your lonely broken heart

(It’s tearing you apart)

God is calling out to you just let healing start

(Will you open up and let Him in)

You decide  (Who will you run to)

Wrong or right  (There is no reason)

For you to hide

Only love can change your life

You decide

love is…

love-is-2
this is a gift that i made for my inlaws, for their 50th wedding anniversary.

the verse has been printed out, the lace is actually from my grandmother’s craft stash, and the birds were punched out, using a martha stewart punch.

it reads:

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails.”

the sun is shining today!  enjoy!!!!

announcing {framed thoughts}

dont-want-to-lo-2
well, it’s friday!

spent today at a scrapbooking crop at our church.

i have many old pictures that are just waiting to be scrapped….so my goal was quantity, not quality.

this layout is from 2000.  our church playgroup took a tour of a local armory.  it was really hot out that day and my son was rather grumpy.  when it came time to take a ride in a Humvee, (which every kid could hardly wait for), nick said that he did NOT want to go….because, there wasn’t any air conditioning in the Humvee.  can you believe that???  he really dug his heels in and refused to smile for pictures or anything else.

this layout is of chewy & nick.  i’m pretty sure it was taken the first day that we had him…way back in 2000.
