just hello

just wanted to say hello.  i’ve been a bad blogger lately.

just been busy with life and enjoying the wonderful taste of summer that we’ve been experiencing.  i love the sun.

nothing too exciting to report.  it’s garage sale weekend in our neighborhood, so that’s kept me busy and that’s where i will be tomorrow.  not shopping.  selling.

new found love at Starbucks;  Iced Skinny Mocha.  in a huge venti, there are only 110 calories.  it’s fabulous!

still eating under 1400 calories a day.  still using my-calorie-counter.com.  which i highly recommend to anyone trying to keep tabs on their weight.  thrilled that my clothes are too loose after losing weight—been shopping!!!  such a good feeling to have an EXCUSE to buy new clothes!  have gradually increased my work-out, up to 50 minutes on the treadmill, while lifting weights.

have actually spent time in God’s Word each morning.  that’s a good feeling.

looking forward to school being out and opening our pool for the summer.  unfortunately, not for another month or so.

have NOT scrapped in the last few weeks.  hoping to grab some time next week.

well. that’s that. (oh ya.  i wanted to say a quick “hello Cady!”.   she is my #1 faithful blog-reader).  😉

pretty parfait

just an easy tasty treat i thought i would share with you. quite easy to make and just use whatever you have on hand.

this particular one, i made, layering:

  • light & fit dannon vanilla yogurt
  • toasted wheat germ, (for a nutty taste, without the nuts)
  • fresh pineapple chunks
  • fresh strawberry
  • a sprinkle of mini-chocolate chips

that’s all!  very tasty for a warm spring afternoon.  enjoy!!

100 calorie snacks {some of my favs}

Ok.  i thought i would write a post about a few 100 calorie snacks that i have tried and let you know what i thought about them, kind of like a taste test–but i’m the only one here tasting. i’m not trying to sound like i am an expert in the area of snacks….just thought it would be fun to review a few of my favorites.

the only one that i eat daily, is the popcorn.  the other ones are just a special treat, now & then.

it’s best to get these on sale, or at a place like Walmart or Target….also, many companies, like Meijer are coming out with their own brand of 100 calorie treats that are just as good and don’t cost as much.

(i’m pretty sure all of these that i mention are also peanut-free items, but please double-check the ingredients, if that is an issue in your family.)

if you have a favorite (store-bought, pre-packaged low-cal snack), leave a comment!!!

so, here we go…..

He Lives!

easter2007.jpg  HE LIVES

I serve a risen Savior, He’s in the world today;
I know that He is living whatever men may say;
I see His hand of mercy, I hear His voice of cheer,
And just the time I need Him, He’s always near.

Chorus
He lives, He lives,
Christ Jesus lives today!
He walks with me and talks with me
Along life’s narrow way.
He lives, He lives,
Salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know He lives?
He lives within my heart.
In all the world around me I see His loving care,
And tho’ my heart grows weary I never will despair;
I know that He is leading thro’ all the stormy blast,
The day of His appearing will come at last.
Chorus
He lives, He lives,
Christ Jesus lives today!
He walks with me and talks with me
Along life’s narrow way.
He lives, He lives,
Salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know He lives?
He lives within my heart.
Rejoice, rejoice, O Christian, lift up your voice and sing
Eternal hallelujahs to Jesus Christ the King!
The hope of all who seek Him, the help of all who find,
None other is so loving, so good and kind.
Chorus
He lives, He lives,
Christ Jesus lives today!
He walks with me and talks with me
Along life’s narrow way.
He lives, He lives,
Salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know He lives?
He lives within my heart.
